Crisis and Emergency Response Management

Careful planning is an essential preparation for any operation, more so an emergency operation where an immediate and appropriate response may have a significant impact on the safety of an organisation's people, property or the environment. Our Risk Management Consultants will work alongside your strategic and operational management and employees to develop, deliver and ensure an effective and robust Emergency Management System exists in order that you are prepared, and can provide support to emergency situations arising in connection with your organisations activities worldwide.

Strategy

Interdict will conduct an analysis of the present risk assessment ensuring it is realistic to the nature and size of the threat and that mitigating measures and procedures in place are appropriate to the Defined Scenarios of Harzards and Emergencies (DSHE's). The Emergency Management Plan shall form a part of a set of manuals designed to support decisions and manage emergencies while allowing the continuance of the organisations business functions.

Organisation

Interdict will ensure the necessary organisation is in place, outlined and understood by those assigned specific responsibilities.

Resources and Expertise

Our Risk Management Consultants will assess the structure and capabilities of the organisational security support and their response and role on site during a potential emergency. We will look at the present medical support measures and those procedures in place to facilitate evacuation.

Training Reviewing and Testing

We can assist your organisation in developing, reviewing and ensuring competence of personnel at all levels of response and positions of responsibility. Working in partnership with your organisation we can facilitate the management of a range of exercises designed to check functionality and familiarity of action plans and lines of communication. Our exercises may take the form of one or all of the following formats:

• Walkthrough/ Talkthrough - A technical rehersal of routines designed to identify potential planning shortfalls or contradictions.
• Table Top Exercise - A scenario driven exercise played out as a group problem solving workshop within a meeting room.
• Full Scale Exercise - Designed to incorporate the involvement of external actors/ role players, directional staff, communications and facilities in order to present the organisations Emergency Response Teams with realistic pressure and the requirement to deliver time critical solutions.

Normalisation

We can assist your organisation plan for the implementation of activities designed to avoid long term effects and return the organisation to normal functioning. Assistance may be given in the following areas:

• Victims, Next of Kin and employees cared for and counselling provided (including future/long term effects).
• Immediate/long term effects on environment identified addressed and mitigated.
• Necessary replacements of personnel/property/facilities scheduled and tasked.
• Necessary reviewing and debriefings scheduled and the requirement for ammendments to plans identified.
